Getting Married in the Black Hills

The other weekend, John and I decided to get married. Here are our wedding photos.

JUST KIDDING! we teamed up with some amazing local vendors though for a collaboration. It was so much fun getting dressed up and seeing all of the pretty flowers and decor.

The flowers were from Jenny’s floral in Custer and were absolutely stunning. The cake was from bake works and was delicious. Bake works is such a cool company with a great mission. My hair and makeup was done by Heather Rupp beauty. She was so sweet and fun. I loved the look she created, and would definitely recommend her.

The invitation suite was from copy country and was stunning.

My dress was from Bridal Boutique and Bling in Spearfish. The experience of picking out the dress was a blast. The owner, Julie, helped me every step of the way. She was so helpful and knowledgeable.

Johns tux was from Main Street menswear in Rapid. We went in for a quick fitting and within a few days we had his perfectly fitted tux.

The venue was at Mount Rushmore Brewing. It was so cool! It was a huge venue, with an amazing dance floor and a great space for dinner. There was even a custom made location for a Bloody Mary bar.

One of my favorite parts about our fake wedding was the Ice Cream cart we had from Cream Hills City. Cream has the best ice cream in the black hills (and maybe even in the world). Their catering cart was the perfect addition to the experience and is such an awesome desert idea!

The whole entire collaboration went seamless with the direction of Justin Straw designs. I have seen Justin Straw Design’s work over the last year, and admired it from afar. When Justin Straw Designs reached out for a collaboration, I was so excited. Throughout the process, I was blown away by how organized Justin was. He was so quick to respond and had every single detail planned out. The whole experience was stress free and FUN. Justin has a heart of gold and an eye for design and detail that shines through in his work. I would absolutely recommend Justin Straw Design to plan any event.

Last, but not least, the photography for this collaboration was done by Indigoblue photography. Sandra of Indigoblue photography was a dream to work with. She made John and I feel so comfortable, and the whole experience was great. She was awesome about knowing how to pose us, and did an amazing job with the photos (below). Overall, I would recommend every single vendor we worked with!

  1. Justin Straw is such a talent! Seriously– he is the male Martha Stewart — and his eye for putting together amazing designs for bride and grooms is exceptional. That said, I follow his work pretty close as I am a HUGE fan and I must say– this is one of my favorites. You and your significant other a stunning couple!! The dress is beautiful on you and as always, your style is ON POINT!
